The foundations of VIC MAC Corporation were laid by Col. Mohan Kaktikar (Retd.), whose distinguished career in the Indian Army and subsequent experience in industry brought together two disciplines that would come to define the organisation: operational understanding and engineering execution.

Col. Kaktikar served in the Indian Army for more than 25 years, holding responsibilities across troop command, operational, instructional and staff appointments. A graduate of the prestigious Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, his career included overseas service, an appointment on the Presidential Staff, and service as part of the Directing Staff at the College of Combat.

In recognition of his service, he was awarded the Chief of Army Staff Commendation on 26 January 1985.

Following more than two decades in uniform, Col. Kaktikar took voluntary retirement and entered the industrial sector. He subsequently served as General Manager with the Chowgule Group in Goa, where he led the establishment of a defence manufacturing unit in Belgaum.

His transition from military service to industry gave him a distinctive combination of first-hand operational experience, engineering understanding and commercial management expertise. This combination became the foundation on which VIC MAC Corporation was built.
